In that Seinfeld episode, George asks Elaine to switch with her, and she doesn't want the male masseuse either. Ironically, if I remember the episode correctly, they go to the masseuse because they convince a dentist to write them a prescription for one, so that their insurance picks up the cost.

I sympathize with George in this case, I wouldn't want a male masseuse either. On occasion, women have asked me to come along to get a massage or pedicure, and I've never gone because I was afraid I'd get the one guy who works in there. It just sounds icky to me.

As for the hygienist, I can understand getting used to one hygienist. I've had the same one for as long as I can remember. If she wasn't in that day and someone else did the job I'd be fine with it though. I will say that is one job that I would NOT want to have, I can't imagine rooting around in people's mouths. More ick.

When I did pedicures in the past, I only have got them done by women. The whole point is to get it done by the oppostie sex.

If the hygenist was a male, then I would have definitely rescheduled the appointment as likely a reflex reaction.

Having a lady that did not look sexy with me or that I was not attracted to is bad enough. But a male that would have triggered me to reschedule the appointment on the spot.

You don't visit escorts to deal with guys, so it's the same thing with hygenists. You are paying for a lady's personal attention on your mouth.
It's like a type of prostitution, but a more socially acceptable form. It becomes like a date.
