Yeah, a great deal of the theorizing on dating and mating is comparable to most(though certainly not all)martial arts practices, post-WWII
Just as the latter is often highly effective in the dojo amongst nice people, but craps out miserably in a bar brawl with vicious brutes who've done hard time in federal pen, the former goes smoother than Vermuth on the page when one is simply imagining a scenario, but leaves much to be desired in RL. Ex.
A gal who's little sister was just mauled to death by a pack of ravenous timber wolves as she watched on helplessly, 15 mins before a fella initially approached her, may be more receptive to his efforts, a few months afterwards
