Why not just create a channel on an IRC server and have something a lot easier to use?

IRC is old school, not too many people would understand it (c'mon, it's text based). A year or two ago someone had a couple of "SoSuave Nights" on Yahoo that went over pretty well. I'd think that more people are using a Yahoo compatible IM than an IRC client.

yahoo wont let me create a room. aim still lets you.
