Why so many threads getting locked?

A lot of flaming and flame-bating recently. I don't even really like starting threads anymore.

That and there have been a lot of looks threads or threads that have somehow turned into a looks debate.

It seems like only certain people with certain stances are labeled flamers, when actually there are a lot of "flamers", and a lot of "flaming" going on.

Threads are getting locked because people are going completely off-topic. My very first thread on this board asking for advice, turned into a 100+ post flame-war mostly between two idiots who could care less what the OP was about and just wanted to call each other names.

I'm surprised they haven't shut down more threads.

I'm going to take a wild guess that it was for the reasons Rollo stated in every thread that he locked. If you had additional questions about his reasoning, why didn't you just PM him instead of making a thread about it?

It has nothing to do with my thread being locked. If you look at the front page of this forum, there are about 5 or 6 that are locked. It seems to be a common practice, and I was curious to know why. That was the reason why I riased it

Saying that, I find it rather amusing that Iqqi calls for a thread lock only to have her wish granted. I know the thread offended her judging by the responses she gave, but calling for the thead to be locked seemed a little, i dunno, extreme.

Censorship is something the state does. Although available to the public this is a privately run forum and not really much different than being in someone's living room. If they don't like what you're saying they can tell you to shut up or throw you out, no explanations needed.

Instead of whining about censorship, maybe you should be thanking them for making this available at no charge. Failing that you can a) leave or b) get off your lazy ass and setup your own forum so that you can listen to functional retards equate enforcing the house rules with terrorism.
