I bought my favorite 50 movies on Blu Ray. I collected some vintage metal theatre signs and framed movie posters and turned my apartment into a drive-in theatre and diner (I cook so I actually have all the food and popcorn, etc available if people want to order). The whole things costs less than $2000.

I also collect Lincoln Cents, and I'm a prepper so I try to have the 100 items most likely to sell out in an emergency.

My idea of fun are actual activities. Say snowboarding or skiing at some lodge, hiking with a tour guide and group of others, rock climbing, those things are always fun. Or say hiring a physical trainer to coach you. I write my own workouts really, but having someone there pushing you is always great because it keeps you working hard. Especially because you paid for it so you want to get your money's worth. Building stuff is always fun too. Using things like Leggos or Magnetix seems to pass by time, although I haven't touched either one of those since I was 12 lol.

The whole point of money is so that you are able to buy the things needed to fulfill your hobbies. You just gotta find some hobbies.

Yeah agree. My "problem" is that all of my hobbies are pretty cheap - gym, music, reading, salsa, etc.

I make a fair bit of money but don't really know what to spend it on, other than investing to make even more money....but the benefit of doing that is something you won't see for a while. I need to feel some benefit to the money I'm making TODAY....otherwise what's the point.

I'm thinking about spending money on travelling regularly - perhaps a different country once a month.

Yes, I hired a physical trainer in December. I'm 7 months in now and I'm really seeing results. There is no other way a 47 year old man like me could have replaced a 21 year old HB9 within days without my having been hitting the gym for a long time.

I have hobbies that pay me vs me pay for them. My two part-time jobs are my hobbies. I get a lot of enjoyment from them. Lately Ive also been day trading stocks which is a blast for me. I spend some of my extra cash taking short trips (in the USA). Just got back from Nashville yesterday. I like camping, fishing, etc.

Some I use on things and some I use on activities. I recently bought a Lego set that I'm currently building. It's not something I do often, but that set was just too cool to not buy. I don't buy much things really, I spend more on experiences. I go on festivals, concerts, travel to other countries and even go on a spa once in a while.

I really just buy whatever I'd like if it doesn't hurt my economy, I can afford most things I want.

I second that on the Legos. I don't buy new ones anymore, or rarely. But on a stressful day I might come home and build with the ones I have had starting since I was 2 x years old. It takes my mind off of stuff.

Hobbies.... Surfing, Scuba, archery, biking and yoga.

I practice a lot with my pistol... I enjoy that, I've sold all my guns and just kept the one (Glock 19 Gen 4) about 3 months ago, I decided to just get really good with one weapon, so lately I have been working on proficiency.

But I really do not have a lot of free time... I work hard and play hard, typically I put in 10-12 hour days. I'll date 2-3 times a week and have my kids on weekends.

Eating out at restaurants. By myself at the bar. I've also spent money on cosmetic procedures like laser hair removal and a silicone injection to make my **** thicker.

Good hobbies, Ranger. I surf, scuba, and practice archery as well. It sucks when I break or lose an expensive arrow in the wild.

All things guitar related:
-Upgrade accessories
-Tabulature and technique books
-Weekly lessons

Recent purchases:
-Music stand
-A nice metronome

Future wish list:
-Pedals and an effects processor.

Misc.
-Concert tickets
-Music (mp3s)
-Going to an occasional movie
-Food & supplements -- fuel for the gym
-Go for an occasional massage

@resilient I don't even want to try and figure out how much in money I've lost in arrows. The arrows I use are $15 a pop, I'll typically lose 6 on one trip.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

I collect art. I buy things I love and find beautiful as I appreciate a well adorned space.

Good shoes (I'm a chick so go figure).

Good restaurants and wine & libations & the occasional good cigar.

Major League Baseball (I'm a seat snob so I like to sit up close if I'm at a live game, whether it's just me or me & friends or me & family).

A vintage Airstream

Travel & experiences

Golf & Tennis

Massages

Like Grewd I can pretty much buy what I want within reason and I enjoy simple pleasures & experiences more than "stuff".

Good clothes

I'm also a horse trader. So I'll buy stuff to turn for a buck. That's a pretty fun kick.

Sports mainly (basketball). Drinking with friends (I'm so British). Live music.

Considering: life drawing sessions; language classes, particularly French and Italian; drum tuition and maybe some mixing equipment.
