No Contact - Day 25
Physical and Finances:
I started going to the gym last Wednesday, and I kept going Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I am going today at 2:00 p.m. I am immediately feeling the effects of going. I feel more assertive, stronger, and more confident. I also bought creatine for the first time in my life. However, my sleep is still ****. I wake up at random times during the night, and it takes me a while to get back to sleep. Last night was the last time I took the melatonin-ashwagandha pills, and again, I still slept like crap. The only positive is that I didn’t wake up groggy. I booked a physical with my family doctor for this Thursday to see where I am at.
On the other hand, my finances are terrible. I have been using Claude to help me put together a budget, which is the part I struggle with the most because the numbers you come up with are basically made up and arbitrary. I have to figure out what works for my situation and live below my means for the foreseeable future. As an example, one of my maxed-out credit cards had an interest rate of 13.99%, but apparently, I missed a payment in June, and it jumped to 24.99% four months later. The worst part is that I couldn’t convince them to lower it, so I have to call every month until they can do something about it.
And this is one of the things I am most pissed off about: for an entire year, I was just sleeping at the wheel, playing video games, watching TV, working out, talking to women, and partying. Career-wise and financially, I dug myself into a big hole, and one of my options would be to remortgage my house. This is the main reason I am going into monk mode, not because I need women, but because I need to avoid them for now and focus on other things. I may need to post less in here as well until I can come up with a solution.
Lastly, I went to the Halloween store and got myself a cheap Jason mask for this Saturday. Worst comes to worst, I’ll go trick-or-treating with my niece and nephews. If a plan comes up, I’ll have something to wear. As a saying in my country goes, “forewarned is forearmed.”
A Tangent Story:
I mentioned earlier in the year that a bunch of women messaged me on Valentine’s Day. In my area, when I was younger, all the Colombians who came to Canada around the same time knew each other, and that included mothers, fathers, and the whole nuclear family. One of the girls who texted me lived in my building, had a young kid at the time, and we kissed a couple of times when we were drunk. However, I never hit it, and most of the Colombian men who were trying to hit it used to call me a “hose stepper” because I was ****blocking them. Again, I just went to the gym and had no game at 22; I didn’t know how gender dynamics worked.
Anyways, she texted me to tell me that her ex, another Colombian whom everyone knew, had died, and she was looking for information about what happened to him. She felt guilty because her ex had texted her a couple of times, telling her that his relationship with his baby mama was turbulent, that he was on Facebook Dating, and, I guess, that he had texted her a week before he died, but she ghosted him. One tangent here is that we caught up, she said she was going through a divorce and that it was really hard, and I asked her out to catch up, but nothing materialized. I asked my mom if she knew anything, and apparently, she went back to her husband and cancelled the divorce, lol.
Anyways, back to the story. We found out the guy died by suicide. This is a huge reach, but I was watching Rollo’s video about moving on, and he argued that a lot of men kill themselves because of a broken heart or because they want their ex back, since getting their dopamine and anxiety relief is easier with their ex than with a new partner, which is arguably hard mode. So I am thinking that most life-altering decisions people make, such as getting tattoos, doing hard drugs, or wasting time and money, happen in the aftermath of a breakup. Again, huge reach.
Rant:
The last thing I have to say is that I hate social media with a passion. I am on Facebook, and the only reason is that I belong to some groups on there for my hobbies, even though I haven’t participated in months. I decided to go on it last week, and it was a bunch of advertisements and Reels featuring a bunch of nobodies giving out the same information over and over again. It is so pathetic. I am not sure why people don’t get sick of it. I guess I could go into more detail, but there is no point.
