In all fairness the men seemed to be about 50% or more reasonable, it was a minority of men and all the women that started shrieking like harpies.
Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."
You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.
She's been waiting forty minutes.
Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.
Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.
You've been "getting ready" for two years.
She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.
Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Welcome to the onslaught BladeSteel.Mr.Positive said:Nice post!!
FYI... There's already a Mr.Positive, and a Mr.P, over on loveshack. One seems to lack intelligence, and the other's a major chump.
So I signed up as BladeSteel.
That could work. You could even say that you are the woman who received it and that your boyfriend is upset about it. AAAACKKK!!! Now you guys are drawing me into the madness!!!:crazy:Bible_Belt said:They might like this one, too:

Let the record show I made an attempt to inject some much needed sanity to this effort before people dived in. It is in all likelihood a fools errand, and of course you cannot teach those unwilling to learn, but who's doing the learning here, LS members or SS members?WesCottII said:And look at yourselves, grown men planning "assualts" on another online forum. It's like the sharks Vs. The Jets (perhaps less gay...) Have you honestly nothing more productive to do with your time?
I'm all for helping others, but 1) They don't want it and 2) We've got enough guys that need help here.
You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.
She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.
Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.
Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.
Hell YES! :yes:KarmaSutra said:Victory, THIS is why I and other brothers must at least TRY to help.
Standing from the sidelines doesn't do a goddamned thing.
Neither does: "I told you so."
And Hell YES-----AGAIN!mr_elor said:Yep, for me it's paying back a debt of gratitude.
I was saved by one guy, posting a link to here. Now I might have been the only guy he saved (he got a lot of **** over there for posting it), but imagine the good that's come from saving just me.
My friends are better, and enjoy my company more.
Girls get the honour of meeting this awesome me, enriching their lives.
I will save a few guys I know along the way who can carry this all on.
Again, if I save just one poor guy, it'll been worth it.
Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.
Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?
You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.
Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.
Yes, I am THE :cheer: "Notable Exception":cheer:Rollo Tomassi said:What amazes me is looking at the post counts of a LOT of the members who are the quickest responders. Sweet Mother Mary, they must average 8,000 posts! With the notable exception of FRANCISCO, most members here don't post even half as much. When do they find time to do anything else?.
brag brag, while you can ...:crazy:Francisco d'Anconia said:Yes, I am THE :cheer: "Notable Exception":cheer:
I believe the plural of the possesive form of guy is guys'. Anyway this is the biggest crock of sh1t iqqi. I went over to LS and read and posted some and so far I haven't seen anyone flame bait there as bad as you do here. I was actually just thinking about that. I was expecting people to be really bad over there an so far I haven't seen anything that holds a candle to what you do on here.iqqi said:If you think Rogue and Woogle and others aren't also sosuave members, there is a chance you are deluded. I bet a few sosuavers lead double forum lives.
As far as me posting over there, the main difference would be that I wouldn't be flamed every time I said something because there are tons of more women over there, so they aren't as "threatening". Other than that, my advice would echo much of your guyses, without the "wow iqqi said something smart" follow ups. Haha. I said Guyses. Is there a correct way to spell that?
Oh, I am not over there because I don't have love shacky issues. I like it here. I like MEN.
Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.
She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.
Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.
So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.
The words come later. The impression comes first.
i actually used to visit over there, but it was very boring there.ketostix said:I was just wondering when someone from here would go over there and post counter to the prevailing wisdom there as a woman to throw off suspicion. You know, kind of how we ocassionally have women posting as men here.
Yeah penkitten could do that and she wouldn't even be pretending to be a woman lol.
:cuss:I look again and the thread was deleted and my account banned.
I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.
The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.
Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.
