Why would you waste time talking to a woman you aren't seeing in person for a month? It screams you have no options and no game. You ask her out after 3-4 messages if not sooner and set a definite time and place.

don't be frustrated that she turned down the date last minute...she was still dating her boyfriend and of course he was the priority...now that they have broken up...keep your cool and give her time to make up her mind to move on.
