Of course its going to matter on dating apps, because woman use their LOGICAL brain. "This is what my brain and society tells me I should want; "6'4, dark, handsome, rich, 6 pack, etc." so I'm going with it. Now if the same woman met a man at a Starbucks or something, and they connected, his height wouldn't matter as long as he is taller than her.

I hate to say this, but men, if you are not at least 6'0, wouldn't go online, you'd be better off meeting women in natural settings. I've gone out with hot women meeting them naturally and I'm not 6'0 at all.

People are always be acting like everyone is superficial for only caring about external qualities. Women complain about men doing this too.

You CAN'T know someone's personality right away, so what else can you go off of other than things like looks, height, ethnicity, etc. This is just how it works even in person, but a dating app it kind of forces it.

People are going to just write off certain traits in people even though they know that there are probably exceptions they'd make, it's not worth the effort to sift through all the others.

I mean I'm sure a lot of women would date a 5'6 man if he had enough qualities she was looking for. Likewise some men would probably be willing to date a chubby girl if she was exceptional in other areas.

All that said, I resent how dating apps don't make woman put in their weight or body type, in fact as far as I know, it's usually not even an option in the first place! They just HAVE to make the apps completely one sided and gynocentric, as if women don't have enough leverage in the dating market as it is. You have to basically be a PI to be able to tell if they're fat or not. One of my friends is so good at it he can tell just from a face pic.

Its simple. Because if women listed their weight these dating apps would lose most of their female and male audience/ user base. They put the needs of women first. Its a business incentive to make you 'pay up' to see more profiles of normal-weighted or slim average looking women... or hot women (though hot women are rare on most apps).

There used to be a weight-filter on POF i remember it (around 2006?), but most women abused it. Fat women listed their bodytype as "average" (which means healthy BMI), which annoyed the guys.

Virtually all men who are healthy and average looking, thin/skinny etc would select women under 150/140lbs. Same with the Chads and tall handsome guys. Hardly any man wants a fatty (lets be honest) but most American/British/Anglosphere are fat (70% of them!) and online its probably higher.

Another reason is that slim/healthy weight average men get a LOW ELO score (swiped on less), where as slim healthy weight average women get a HIGH ELO score (swiped on a lot/tons). What this means is that healthy weight men -- due to their low ELO -- get shown profiles of women with LOW ELO scores, which is always the fat/obese/ugly chicks. Likewise, the slim average looking women get a HIGH ELO so are shown the guys with HIGH ELO scores whom are the Chads/tall attractive men/top 10%. Its a form of digital eugenics when you think about it. These apps are trying to get average healthy weight men to go on dates with disgusting pigs.

If there was a weight filter, Fat women would only be matched to the bottom % of men or their looksmatches (fat/ugly dudes) - which would make them frustrated/angry (hypergamy), even though that's their dating cohort.

My earliest spell on tinder.. which IIRC was 2017 ish, I dont think i listed my height (5'4) but..I remember making a slight reference to it playfully. But matches..I did alright numbers wise and quality wise. or sure didn't feel like it wad a big thing.. last few times on there and Bumble, I've been pretty much invisible.. gone full circle in a few years. And thats with the height listed.. its ****, and does test your resolve and confidence receptors..
