Other than squats and deadlifts, what are some different workouts I can do to tone my butt up?

That's the first male I've ever heard ask that question.

I'm sure there's some glute machines over where the girls train .. otherwise, narrow-stance squats I'd say.

Get a Tae-Bo tape that has that part of the routine where they go on all-fours and lift their legs up in the air and back down.

I did that out of curiosity (hidden in my apartment, so no one would know) and my butt hurt for 2 days.

Any reason you want to do this? I heard that strong glutes can help you run faster... but I don't know why you want to work out your ass muscles.

I'm often complimented on my butt (much to my embarrassment), but the only work I do to improve that area are squats and some cycling.
