When and What do you eat before a workout?

Curious to know what you guys eat and when you eat before a workout to maximize your strength throughout.

before i go and lift i have breakfast

5 scrambled egg whites
1/2 cup of low fat cottage cheese
1 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup of OJ
1 glass of water
multivitamin
flax seed oil

I have some complex carbs such as oatmeal or wheat bread aobut 40 minutes before my workout.

If you are taking creatine have 5 grams with some dextrose or malodextrin about 30 minutes pre workout.

some complex carbs, some fat, and some protein about an hour before lifting...

I usually make myself a shake using MUSCLE MILK powder...
