What does it mean when a chick friend asks you

So she saw this chick who will be working with us soon. Then she asks me "Do you think she's pretty"?


What does it normally mean when chicks ask yuo about how pretty other chicks are?

All I can say is two things, one is that from my personal experience of asking women that, I was unsure of myself and some other woman said said that guy was hot. I wanted to check and see if it was a universal thing so that I can figure out why.

Two, is a girl asked me that one time about another girl that wasn't very pretty physically, but damn... she was sexy. I said no, but she was attractive, and she said that she walkes around school all the time acting like every guy wants her. In that case she may have been experiencing the same thing I experienced in the first situation.

actually that was going to be my third thing, the other girl likes you and is possibly having this girl ask you if you like her, or not having her ask you but the other girl takes it into her own hands. That has actually happend to me in the past... but it's been a very very long time... Most more mature women wouldn't go through this, I think.

She is (Women are) threatened by other women that she (they) sees as above her on the beauty scale - because she (they) knows that the "beauty" of the woman is the main determinant (attraction) for which the male is motivated to pursue his prey!!!

ok, something else just popped to mind right now. when girls asked me that in the past, I thought, maybe she likes me and wanted to know what I think about her. Like, where are my standards are at, which is right in line with what PuertoRican_Lover said.

How exactly did you respond to that? Did you tell her, "oh she's pretty, or whatever blah blah blah"

I usually use one of two responses

1) I just look around saying "what other chick? Which one?" over and over again until the girl dissappeares from sight so you never have to answer.

2) I say, "Well, yes and no. Would society find her pretty? [take a pause as if considering it], yeah. I guess some might. Is she pretty enough to get with me? No."
