I think there is no need for one. Reason being is that how many of us want an LTR? Or how many of us had an LTR and qualify to give advice about it?

Because if you're happily married you won't be here. SS is about good lovers, not good husbands. Mothers raise good husbands.
Aside from that point, if you have basic skill, you should be able to keep a woman satisfied for a long time, IMO.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.
You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

I'm all for LTR's and/or discussing them. As for a spin-off forum, I think there was one just a couple of years ago. I think the amount of success was based on the amount of interaction.
So many times guys are flamed for looking toward finding a quality woman as opposed to consuming mass quantities of poonani so they stay in the shadows and lurk. It's a catch 22 situation.

Yeah, this is a suggestion many of us have been making for a long time. It's difficult finding decent and reliable LTR advice on here and just as hard finding someone with the experience to give it.
Many of the DJ principles apply to LTRs - improve yourself and develop a solid foundation as a man, maintain your pride and confidence and so on. But many of the PUA advice absolutely does not work in LTRs! You cannot be playing mind games and using gimmicks to maintain a relationship.
Despite what the outspoken majority here preach, I believe there are a lot of guys who would ideally prefer a solid relationship, but they just don't know how to keep a woman for the long term. Even the PUA legend Mystery hasn't mastered that! And didn't Neil Strauss' fiance cheat on him?
LTRs are a whole different game, but don't expect a new forum any time soon (or ever!).

Well, personally, as a man in a long term/ long distance relationship for over two years, I would love to share my experience, and would love to learn from those who are also in long term relationships. Unfortunately though, based on the responses doesn't seem like any type of subforum will exist. And the problem with starting a new forum is that there aren't many guys out there in the first place in long term relationships.
I just think there should be some type of community where LTR's are focused upon, and where guys who are seeing recurring problems in their LTR can bring it up and discuss them. As Francisco said, a problem with posting LTR help here in the ss forum is that the mindset is completely different, and little constructive criticism or advice might come out of that.

why dont we just start naming threads about ltr's differently.
example: LTR motivation
LTR frustration
LTR happiness
LTR whatever you can think of
that way we know which ones are about the ltr's before we even click on the thread.
what do you think?

Tell her a little about yourself, but not too much. Maintain some mystery. Give her something to think about and wonder about when she's at home.

mpimpin, is there a possibility to create a (sub)forum for LTR discussion to see if there is enough posting going down for lets say two months or so? This thread already had more proponents then antagonists! I say lets give it a try!

If your under 25, you shouldn't be in an LTR. Your too young, you should be out sowing your at that age because your still full of p1ss & vineagre.
Once your over 25, you can post in the MM forum where you'll get quality LTR advice, hence declaring the need for a LTR forum obsolete.

I agree with MacAvoy in that fact that the MM forum is a good place for LTR advice and I have read advice in there myself. I have to disagree though about not being in one if your under 25. Everyone is different and not all of us are out there looking to bang lots of women. And just the opposite with many older guys. My own father is still a rollingstone
