[/QUOthen.
I started at age 34. Everyone starts somewhere. Most important is finding a good place to train, with good supervision. Beating up new people for fun is lame and a sign that it is not a quality gym.
The information in each issue of The SoSuave Newsletter is too powerful for most guys to handle. If you are an ordinary guy, it is not for you. It is meant for the elite few. Not the unwashed masses.
If you know you can handle it...
If you already have girls calling you at all hours of the day and night, showing up at your door, throwing themselves at you everywhere you go...
Then sign up below.
But if you're just an average Joe, an ordinary guy, no one special – then skip this. It is not for you.
Takedowns are a weak spot of bjj. Everyone at Naga wants to pull guard. It's annoying.@Bible_Belt
I meant like learn actual wrestling rather than just BJJ and MMA. I have been trying to see if I can learn how to properly do a takedown, maintain control, and prevent being taken down. Seriously trying to get into MMA soon as soon as I get my new job.
Got it, do MMA gyms teach wrestling at all or are there gyms that do?Takedowns are a weak spot of bjj. Everyone at Naga wants to pull guard. It's annoying.
Wrestling is like the opposite of jiu jitsu. Strength matters. Simply put, wrestling is better when you are winning, and bjj is better when you are losing.
I'm sure you can find it if you look. Some larger mma schools have style specific classes. There are also other types of wrestling besides American collegiate.Got it, do MMA gyms teach wrestling at all or are there gyms that do?
You will not find a wrestling specific school outside of high school teams and college club teams. There are a few Catch Wrestling schools but they are the exception.Got it, do MMA gyms teach wrestling at all or are there gyms that do?
Thank you so much man. Also, how would you rate South Florida's MMA scene to elsewhere in the US?You will not find a wrestling specific school outside of high school teams and college club teams. There are a few Catch Wrestling schools but they are the exception.
MMA/ BJJ schools do teach wrestling. They incorporate it into their BJJ classes. Wrestling is going through a rebirth because of Brazilian Ju Jitsu competitions. The BJJ guys are starting to learn wrestling because takedowns are getting more difficult to get on wrestlers .
In my last competition I pretty much only did ok because I have a good wrestling single takedown. Other than that im fairly average. BJJ guys cant really wrestle but the gap is closing fast.
Some gyms have whole wrestling classes during the week. At the very least you will learn very basic wrestling if you go to a good BJJ school.
