:yes: LifeCycle, hill program, level 8 or higher, constant cadance of 90 or above for at least 40 minutes! :up:

is what, bad on your knees? running isn't necessarily the best cardio. An elliptical machine would probably be fine if it has a hard enough setting. I don't know about just 5 minutes three times a week, though.

you won't burn calories enough on 5 minutes. maybe 75kcal? really depends on the intensity but even if it's higher there only so far you can go

HIIT burns more calories long after the exercise than regular cardio, though.
