Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

when i first started dating i wasn't attracted to probably the first 3 girls i went out with. you got to start somewhere. that's everyone ont his forum's problem you want to read a book and date hb 8's. you would not go to a war without going through real LIVE basic training. you don't play in the NFL without 4 games of preseason. but guys want to date dimes with no dating experience. the real world does not work like that

People here are unreal sometimes. There's a gulf of difference between dating a disease ridden skank and going out with someone you just aren't necessarily attracted to.
Don't lower your standards and wind up in a relationship, but if you need practice, go for it. Experience is the best teacher and knowing going in that you don't expect anything to happen beyond a drink or dinner or whatever will take loads of pressure off. Any practice you can get dealing with real women in real situations is good, imo. The more you deal with, the less pressure you will feel with the hot ones and the less you will pedistalize them. Your confidence can only improve and, depending on who it is and what you do together, you may even score some social value points with women you are attracted to.
And if you do wind up getting a little action from one, experience with that never hurts, either.

I have an opportunity to go on a date with a girl a half foot taller and a hundred pounds heavier.
I think she used to have decent looks, but her face is now bordering on a 5 at best.
I'm obviously not excited at all, but just wondering if it would be worth it for the experience since I'm on a massive dry spell and hardly getting any dates to begin with.

It sounds like a waste of time to me. Anyone can spit a good game to chicks they aren't attracted to. You need to be able to perform when your nerves are active and that'll only happen with a chick you're attracted to.

Yeah but maybe if you're not spitting good game at the chicks you are into then you're doing something wrong. You cannot expect to just roll up to a girl you're interested in if you've barely hit on a girl your whole life, you will get shot down and your confidence will go down. Ideally, you dont want to have to date some girls you're not into but I reckon most of the guys who have gotten really good have had to go through that period of dating girls they would not touch today.JoeMarron said:
