"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

lol, i'm in the same exact situation. prom is this friday, and i'm goin single. I've asked one dateless chick so far and was blown off, she didnt kno me too well, bs. I'm plannin on asking one more chick, and then goin single if it doesnt come through.

Single (advantages)
no restrictions, you can dance with any chick with out devoting much time to only one.
(disadvantages)
well u dont have a date, no braggin rights
no guranteed dance partner, but i'm well of on the dancefloor so that doesnt worry me.

I'm goin to have as much fun goin single as i would with a date so its all good. have fun bro.

thanks man.

sad thing happened a few minutes ago. i dont think im gonna go with a date.

i did not get rejected. no, that is not why. but i realized why i am in the situation i am in. i have been diong everything wrong. i thought with a little ****y funny and lame jokes i could get w/the girls. i was wrong. i have some value, and that's probably the only reason my friends laugh at my jokes. it's an eye opening experience for me ladies and gentlemen. i'm not even going to try for this girl. it's an act of desperation. come summer i'll do things right. i wasn't anything near a DJ. more like a player wannabe with no girls or experience whatsoever. the only good thing i did was probably do well in school and play baseball well (so i'im more in shape, and i notice this has gotten me more looks than c&f ever did btw). otherwise, i'm the same guy as i was 2 years ago :( but now i will change that.

madenq. best of luck to you man. i'll have some people to talk to, and i know about 10 girls going alone 7 of which are hb 7+ so i'll be fine w/the dancing. take care everyone. bye bye

My advice. Do what you want.

And damn, this is a late prom. I thought our school had ours late, and that was a couple weeks ago. We're almost out of school, and we're the last ones.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.
