Zarky is sure to comment on this thread in the matter of moments, he'll give some "good advice".

Many people have a love/hate with POF, other people flat out despise it. I compare it to rolling out to a seedy dive bar at 1:30AM and picking up on the rejects.

My strategy is a little different when it comes to online dating. First of all, I now stay away from POF. But I don't knock people who are on it, it is what it is. It's a good source for getting laid, if you're willing to lower your standards. Yes, you will have to. What's a 6 IRL, will be treated like an 8 or a 9 on POF...so....be ready for that.

My strategy was to read (or skim over) a profile, find something that sticks out, could be something she said or a picture, and make a comment about it. The key is to say something that induces a response. Something witty or funny always helps....

That's it. Once you peak her interest, I'd usually like to wait for them to offer their number. There's so many guys offering their's that they may appreciate a guy who's not throwing their's out there. (my 2 cents)

You'll hear a lot about cut & paste, it works for some, but with that strategy the quality will considerable drop lower than it already is.

So, my advice, no canned opener. Invest some time in actually reading the profile and it may actually produce some results. Good luck.

2. What you say in your profile.
3. #s (like height, income)
4. Your opening email...

Focus on 1 & 2 and you wont have to worry about your opener. When you can just send a wink face to a woman and consistently get responses - you know 1&2 are locked down.

I agree. It's all about how good looking you are. Much more so than in real life. If you say something "witty" you may get a response. I probably get a 30% response just saying Hello back. Then from there a 30% number pull. Then from there a 40% non-flake for a date.

It's a numbers game like anything else but the numbers are stacked against you.

Find girls in real life. Much easier, less headache, easier to show your confidence in person than through an e-mail.

Kudos to anyone who can get the type of women they want thru online dating and bang them. I couldn't, I'm working on losing some belly fat right now and will be hitting the field hard again

I have buddies who killed it on POF they are good looking guys tho. Then I have buddies who still keep trying and are frusated with the low quality skanks they meet. It's honestly subjective to everyone

But for most guy's online dating just doesn't yield fruitfull results. I have no problem admitting that for me it didn't. At one point my flake rate was 90% on POF

Well I'm a wasp, I'm 6'1'', 170lbs, athletic, about 7 to 8% body fat. I couldn't get fat If I tried. I look very much norwegian and swedish decent.

I don't have a car but i live in the downtown area of my city ( which is small). From my understanding its a numbers game, and you can just say "Hay whats up".

So you're opener can be lame as hell if you're good looking. If you're not at least somewhat good looking and over 5'10" online dating is going to be a major disappointment. Even the fuglies will ignore you. I've had some success, but I know its because of my pics, my height, and my income. Girls on online dating sites are shallow as hell.

Is match free? there is no fvcking chance in the world that I would ever, ever pay for a dating website. I think if you pay for a dating site, your out of your mind.

^^This is why a lot of guys are frustrated with online dating. Even if your profile is written eloquently, even if your game is top notch none of this matters if the girl doesn't find you attractive or you're not good looking.

I always lol at guys on here who claim to be good looking but don't get any response on POF and act upset. The truth is if you're as good looking as you think you are women will hit you up first online!
