I've never used it until recently and had a quick question. Tonight I did a cardio workout followed by an ab workout. Would it be smart to use the whey if that's all I did for the night? Or should I only use it when I lift weights?

Yes, you can still use it, being that the abs are muscles too. I might use a bit less than a normal workout though.

You shouldnt only be getting protein after workouts, you should be getting it with every meal you eat throughout the day
When did I say I didn't get protein with every meal? I was just wondering if I should use a supplement as well when I'm not getting a strength training workout.

How many servings should I use in a day (each serving is 24 grams of protein)? Should I use two, one before workout and one after? Or should I stick to just one?

You should consume 1.5-2g x you body weight a day in protein. Divide that by the number of meals you eat a day should give you an idea of roughly how much protein you should eat per meal.

On days I work out I take in extra protein via a shake right after I workout. As for before a workout.. I have a meal that is high in protein (50-80g) so I don't add additional whey here.
