I believe that making love is having sex with somebody that you really care about. You have an emotional connection with that person. You don't mind cuddling afterwords.
Sex is just; wham, bam, thank you mam. And you're out the door. Well you don't really have to leave right after.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's actually your girl that is having trouble telling the difference. She may have had negative experiences with sex in the past.
