Feeling the need to hit a women only means that you, as a person, are mentally immature. You are unable to mentally win the situation and therefore you have to resort to physical methods in getting your point across. It also means that you are unable to understand that there are certain situations where there is no point in arguing further. You continue to get involved in the argument and continue to get more annoyed and irritated, but only because you "like" the anger and you "want" her to give you a reason to hit her. Walking away is not something you would enjoy doing because you want to prove your point. You are not timid, but you are indeed a coward because you are extremely afraid of letting the woman "win" the argument, when in actual fact there is nothing to win really.

If you believe something (like in your case, that people in her line of work are idiots), then don't apologize for that.
