I'm very wary of making guy friends. I haven't had a group of guy friends since High School, that was about 8 years ago. We were all basically the dorks or what ever. I broke contact with them about two years after graduation. One of them still calls me every now and then when he's high 
The last guy friend I had ended up using me as a cover while he was cheating on his girlfriend.
Generally I just don't like guys. Why waste my time with a guy when I can spend it with a girl? Also I've only had guy friends my whole life and felt like it was time wasted, that I should have spent with girls.

When I feel lonely I have a nice collection of gospel music artists that I listen to and if I occupy my mind with good music, especially from sexy sounding female vocalists, then I feel good - sometimes I get this soul-sister connection from the singers.
Anyway....I've been thinking about this site called http://www.meetup.com
Basically, this is an online social networking site, and basically groups from all over the place use this as a meeting venue. Then you got these other small groups in church, etc... that could also serve as potential networking - as well as work based.
So, the best way to start a social circle from nothing is probably to go on meetup.com

No the best way to create a social circle is to go out and meet real people in real life.

im starting to apply this pretty much figured it out myself, but yeah just getting in as many social things I can as possible
