I left town this weekend and she got hurt by it. Didnt even tell her I was because it's none of her business. She asked me when I got back and to ask her out whenever I had free time.Redwood said:

I would NEVER ask out a girl "on command." If she's telling me to call her and ask her out, my response is "Sounds like you *really* want to see me. When are you free to get together?"
If she gives you any $hit for not specifically calling her to ask her out formally, you call her on it. "Look, honey, YOU want to see ME. We can set up something now or you can reach out later and we can set something up then."
I for one, would resist any attempt by a woman to have me specifically call to ask her out as if by some script, in order to validate her insecurities and make her feel like she's being courted. Huge red flag.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.
