i clean addict if they are working a program is one of the best dates you will ever find. women in NA generally have their **** in order moreso than avg women if they are doing what they are supposed to do.
but 6 months isn't long enough. i wouldn't date a chick that doesn't have a year clean .

today's topic for instance was gratitude. being grateful. how many times do you come here on this forum and talk about ungrateful *****es lol? *****es that ain't grateful for ****.
a woman who is seriously working a program is going to understand things like tolerance, acceptance, patience, empathy, how to deal with haters, how to deal with success, how to deal with failure, w hat is and what is not a normal sex life, self reliance, gratitude, that a lot of skanks you deal with aren't going to have, or better stated, don't have a program where you go and work on these things everyday or most days.
I'll say this, I've been in NA/AA for 8 years. there are plenty of people who I know who hooked up and got married in NA/AA and i don't know one that's divorced. okay i take that back one lol. one dude but seriously dude has issues i don't blame the chick.
if something were to happen to my wife i would have no qualms in the least bit in dating or even marrying if the right one came along a recovering drug addict under the assumption hat they are seriously working their program.
but that's not something you can tell in 6 months.
the only thing is trying to find one without bagage like kids or ****. that's pretty hard lol. but i'd have no problem at all dating a recovering addict if they were doing what they were supposed to do.
siht, I'm a recovering addict and all things considered, i'm a tad arrogant at times, i can ramble but for the most part there is nothing about my life today that would make you assume i used to do hard drugs.
Now with all that said, i will tell you like I tell my male sponsees. she's probably going to relapse. that's just pure statistics. But generally if a person can make it a year without doing drugs and you can honestly see the change in your life they have a pretty good chance to stay clean.
If you really like her keep her around but don't' commit to anything until you see what's seriously up. some addicts like to replace sex with drugs / relationships with drugs and if that's what she is trying to do you haven't seen the depths of hellt hat this girl can take you to lol. but if she is really clean and is trying to change she could be catch.

Addicts can be great people once clean, but I'm telling you, opiate addictions have an extremely high relapse rate. She may never relapse, but she just as likely may.
Also a good point was made about the underlying psychological pathology in many addicts. I'm sure BB will flame me for this but in my personal experience with addicts/alcoholics, there are some underlying personality dysfunctions there that dont ever truly go away. Of course, many get clean and live prosperous, productive lives and help a lot of individuals. So I am generalizing. I just think when you are this early in the dating stage with a RECENT opiate addict, why risk it? Do you want her to bring your life down with her if she slips?

I'd go with absolutely not. I stopped a heroin user and she gave me her i.d. She was absolutely beautiful in the picture but looked like a zombie in person. She also prostituted herself so she could retain such a habit.

The fact is that you contract a virus through blood to blood contact; the people with the most blood to blood contact are intravenous drug users and people that have unprotected anal sex. Sure, she'll say she's never shared a needle, but I have a lifetime of experiences where people have lied to me for no reason, other than that it benefited them in some way.
