I was reading this, and it got me interested:

On the one hand, being in field dominated by women should lead to a lot more social contacts (not necessarily dating a co-worker, but meeting her friends, etc.), but on the other hand, I could see being a detriment, as per this article:

I myself was in a very masculine career (engineering, and then programming), and going back through my sausage fest engineering college career, and before then an all-boy's school
