There was a party out of town going on. But I have a test worth 25% of my grade on Monday. Skipped the party to study. Did I do the right thing?

Yes...6 years from now you wont give d@mn about that party...but your academics determines how much money you'll make later on...and you'll be partying in all the hottest clubs and b@nging all the hottest females....hard work and dedication always pays off....

Dunno how old you are, but in your 20's and even 30's parties are ten-a-penny. You can have a party whenever you want when you have your own place - just buy some snacks and alcohol and let the good times roll.
On the other hand, you get one shot to nail your exams. And living in a cardboard box and thinking back to that bad night you got drunk and puked everywhere when you should have been securing your future is not a good retrospective to have.
