I've recently decided to stop dressing like a little kid with graphic tees and wear nicer clothes (polos, dress shirts, nicer fitting pants, etc.).

So I found this old dress shirt in my closest, but I'm a bit iffy about it, so I need opinions (mind you, I wouldn't normally be wearing capri with it)

I have lighter skin, as well as blue eyes

P.S. No it's not my room :D

A black and white checkered shirt is good with jeans, but you need a much smaller checker pattern. The pattern is too large on that shirt.

I would say smaller pattern checker shirt with jeans if you want to rock that look.

Heh I do have a weird shape on that picture, but it's due to the angle of the shot, that would be an odd deformity o_O

Anyways I guess this shirt is a negative

Personally, not a fan of the shirt. Looks dated and sloppy.

I'm picky when it comes to clothes. To the point a lot of my guy friends call me a woman, but whatever. I like what I like. 90% of button-downs that I see, I absolutely hate. There are so few generic brand button-downs that I think look good, fit right, and last over time. So, it's possible I'm being my normal picky self, and it doesn't matter to you as much. But I'm taking the fact that you are changing your wardrobe, and created a thread about this shirt to mean that it does matter to you.

I would recommend getting a more updated style, and look for Fitted cut. That will solve the issue scribblec mentioned.

Amazing how the ad I'm looking at on this page is for similar checkered shirts.

Google knows all...

wow that shirt looks like an optical illusion, it makes me dizzy looking at it.

thats not hte point though. checkered shirts arent bad at all. dont use this one.. get one that has a more uniform pattern, SLIM FITTING, and try mixing it up by wearing it over a plain white t or something like that. and roll up the sleeves

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

Go to Marshalls/Tj maxx. Grab 5-6 nautica/ralph lauren polo shirts. No gay patterns just solid colors. Nothing loud like turquoise or anything. 35-40$ a.piece. Dry clean them every 2nd wear, never wash. Hang them up never in dresser.
They will last for years, literally.
Go to oldnavy store/website order 2-3 pair of cargo shorts.
Go to nordstroms rack and grab 2 pair of sperry loafers the suede kind. Not the ugly rubbery ones.

Get 2 nice pair of jeans. I mean nice 200$ true religions/s7even/Rockin Republic.
Obviously never wash them. Dry clean without the creases.

Grab a 30$ pack of ralph lauren v neck ts. This you will have to buy often. Try to keep once on stand by. If you get white ones its one wear and done, coloref ones you can get a few wears out of.

Keep your shoes in mint condition. Its the first thing they look at. You do this by having 10-15 pairs and never wearing the same ones in a week. Start with 2 and add on every payday. It doesn't have to be real expensive shoes but have a lot. She should see a different sure / outfit every day. I don't wear suits they are hot and gay. I do slacks with shirt and tie but if you really want a suite go for it.

Get a nice watch thats real. 200 bucks at pawn shop will get you something decent. Go gold.
Keep your hair neat. Finger nails clean.

This sounds like a lot but its done over time. Buy a thing or 2 when you can.
Don't wear your good stuff to go hang with your boys, you will dog it. Wear something chill with them. Save the new stuff for dates.

And no outfit is complete without the right cologne.

Detailed but I hope it helps.

I've standardized my button downs to the fitted cut shirts from Express. They come in lots of colors and patterns, and can be bought for cheap on eBay ($20 vs. $60 retail). Don't have to think about that sh*t anymore.
