"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

Thiis chick i used to be tight with, and i suspect likes me, just asked me to go to the school basketball game with her. I'm not sure if its a date or ont. Ive also only been to one basketball game in my whole life. You guys got any pointers for me?

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

keep you **** inside your pants, unless she wants to dribble your balls. Have fun. Don't try to put move on or anything. See how things develop. Ask who her favorite player is or whatever and talk like you know what she's talking about.

Are her friends going? If so, who does she pay more attention to?

Bring damn gum, and just be a normal DJ. You'll be fine. But you should try to establish at first whether she likes you, and this is the perfect time. If she doesn't like you, this isn't a date, and well... just ditch her.

Next time that sort of thing happens, ask her "are you asking me out?" and give a sly smile. The smile is important.

Her response to your question without a smile (even if she was asking you out). "No, no, my friends just bailed on me and I don't wanna go alone. You being my best guy friend makes you the obvious choice."

Her response with a smile. Well, lets just say it would be a lot more favorable.

WARNING: She may NOT be asking you out. Be prepared for that.

Just for future reference. Right now, just go and have a good time. Then you can ask her out again later.

what teams are playing?

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

..and since it's a school basketball game i don't know if "who's your favorite player" is such a great line.
