"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

Holy dry spell...

I had some people ask me when I was going to post my next one of these, maybe assuming I'd been "active" but had just forgotten - nope.

4 months since my last new woman, 3 months since my last woman (my ex, who actually hit me up tonight, which I declined because I was exhausted from the night I'm about to describe), but who's counting?

HINT: Me, I am, because it was driving me nuts.

Refer to My Collection of L's to see what kind of BS I've been dealing with when it comes to women, then add another 3 or 4 points from the month since that was posted, and you'll have a rough idea of why this took so long...

This is the girl from this post: Women that want "submissive" men if you want a little background.

Starting from the beginning, this girl and I matched on Tinder exactly one month ago. Since then, she has come back and responded to my messages about a week late each time, 3 separate times. The thing is that she seemed like she was genuinely just bad at checking the app and was interested in me, but never kept tabs on it often enough to get to the point of me asking for her phone number. She had her first and middle name in her Tinder profile, so I thought I'd check Instagram and see if she was on there - which she was. So I messaged her; she responded, apologized profusely, and sent me her number. From that point onward (about a week ago), we started texting pretty regularly.

She was significantly better over text compared to Tinder; she would often double or triple-text, write long responses, react to messages, and send pictures. After a day or two of getting to know each other, we tried to solidify a plan for meeting up. The original idea was to meet up Sunday night, seeing as she works as a bottle/shot girl and wanted to work the busy Friday and Saturday nights.

Sunday night got pushed back to Monday night because she worked late, barely slept, and felt like she would be struggling during our date rather than enjoying it. I was understanding, she was apologetic, and we continued being flirty over text.

Monday night got pushed back to Tuesday night because her back was in a lot of pain (has to do with discs she herniated due to an unfortunate electrocution while saving her dog). Once again, I was understanding, she was apologetic, and we continued being flirty over text.

Now...Sunday into Monday night is when I created that thread about submissive men because she wanted to be up-front with me about some of the sexual stuff she was into, since the conversations we were having got more explicit as time went on. I was a little concerned about how she might try to treat me if she was expecting to be the dominant one. That thread got a lot of knee-jerk reactions to immediately "next" her, which you can read about if you want.

I'm glad I did not listen to those people.

Tuesday night finally rolls around, and she's excited to see me. I explained my living situation to her, which she was understanding of, so the plan was to pick her up and go to this date-night drink spot. She was quite concerned about the actual venue because she thought I'd picked out a place with bright lights, metal chairs, and feared she might be overdressed for what she thought would be a hipster vibe. I told her to have a little faith in me, and she submitted to that idea with an open mind.

I picked her up (she looked great) and drove us to a garage close to the venue. Now, I did this for a few reasons...First, I didn't want to worry about getting ticketed or towed for trying to street park at either the venue or at her place. Second, I didn't want to worry about potentially trying to drive back to her place and parallel park with an alcohol buzz. And third, and most importantly, I wanted it to be an easier transition from the bar to her place, assuming things went well.

They went well.

While walking her to the bar I did try to kiss her pretty early into the date. We had built up a good (and explicit) rapport, and since she mentioned not being a fan of PDA, I thought I would see how receptive she was before we got to such a public place. She rejected that, explaining that she doesn't want to just kiss me out on some random street at night - but she continued holding my hand as we walked and joked that "maybe I'd change my mind if you get me a little tipsy", so that was the most minor of speed bumps, and probably the only point of friction throughout the entire night.

The date itself went really well. We got to know more about each other, often while holding or playing with the other's hands. She took a lot of interest in me and was very happy that I was as attractive and normal as I presented myself online and over the phone. We opened with a shot, and maybe 2 hours and 3 drinks later, I suggested we go back to hers so I could meet her dog. She'd sent me pictures of him before - big Doberman, 130lbs, bigger than her.

She agreed. I told her I'd leave the car at the garage and ordered us an Uber, which is where SHE actually initiated the kiss on ME. We got to her apartment and very briefly walked her dog so he'd use the bathroom before bed. He's a very sweet dog, but he's also very much in our business the entire time, and is quite spoiled - as in, he is constantly trying to get her attention and/or get between us. Never in a defensive or aggressive manner, but I'd be lying if it weren't a little annoying.

She pours us some wine, we put on a movie, and make out on and off on the couch, often being interrupted by her dog. I forget which one of us made the suggestion to transition to her bedroom, but this is where she formally invited me to spend the night, which she phrased as "having a sleepover".

It takes a fair bit of time for her dog to calm down enough for us to get alone time in bed without him jumping up or interrupting, but it eventually does happen. She's receptive, but also has some concerns; she liked meeting me and doesn't want to be a one-night stand, and also hadn't had sex in a while. I reassured her that it had also been a little while for me, and that I'd definitely want to see her more than once, joking that "unless you're terrible in bed" which got a laugh.

Anyway, fast forward, and we ended up having sex 4 times last night, then a 5th time today before I left. She was a lot of fun...very attractive, very enthusiastic, and very easy to please many, many times over. She remarked that she thought I was attractive and would probably be a fun time, but didn't expect me to be THAT fun.

Here's the fun part...remember how I was concerned about her commenting that she liked submissive men and enjoyed being a dominant woman?

She's told me 3 times now - 2 times in person, once over text - that she's used to being sexually dominant in the bedroom, but was surprised at how much she enjoyed being submissive to me, and is interested in seeing how that evolves with more time and trust, stating that she learned something new about herself with me.

We passed out at around 6 or 7 AM and only got about 3 hours of sleep before she had to wake up to let maintenance in. I stayed in bed for a while, nursing a slight hangover along with hunger and sleep deprivation. Once she was finished with that business, she came back to bed with me, and we went to sleep for a few more hours before I decided I needed to start getting ready to head home. We had sex one more time before I got dressed, had her kiss me goodbye, and met my Uber to take me back to the garage so I could drive home.

I texted her when I got home safely that I had a great time, and we are both very interested in seeing each other more.

Alright, so what do I think are the key takeaways here?
  • Be open-minded, and judge women by their actions and not just their words. Several members in that other thread read it and suggested I "next" her, that she must be crazy, that she would be abusive and disrespectful, and even implying that she might try to peg me. If I had taken their advice, I wouldn't have had such a fantastic night.
  • Dating apps are good to have (especially if you're attractive), but should not be relied upon. A lot of this worked because I was attractive enough to stand out, and I had simply been playing the numbers game long enough to succeed. I get dozens of matches, most of which amount to absolutely nothing. Just because this LR came as a result of a Tinder match should not lead you to believe it is that easy.
  • Be good in bed. I remember reading @BackInTheGame78 replied to someone's thread recently, something along the lines of "you can be the best she's ever had in bed", in response to a thread that I think had something to do with "what more can we give women" or something. Anyway, the point is that this is a skill you can learn just like any other. Being a good kisser, knowing how to properly finger, knowing how to eat pu**y, knowing various positions. I think this is largely why she was comfortable NOT being in the dominant position with me - because I was confident in my abilities in bed and delivered.
  • Be normal. This is basically a superpower these days because so many guys are f***ing weird...I'll give you an example: That maintenance guy that visited her apartment today; she told me that he got her personal phone number from the shared apartment group chat with her landlord and privately contacted her after that visit to ask her on a date. Being normal, being confident, and generally mirroring the energy she gives you is often the best way to build comfort while also moving the conversation in the direction you want it to go.
I think that wraps it up for tonight.

Great FR! Good job not treating the rejected kiss as a global rejection when she was clearly still interested, and props for judging her by her actions rather than the forum’s assumptions.

Also, good call on avoiding parallel parking after drinking. I don’t even like doing that **** sober.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

I think you did a good enough job leading the date that she felt comfortable enough to open her submissive side. There are too many guys that are clueless, poor communicators, and don't lead and it puts these women in a predicament.

Glad it all worked out for you.

I've said before that you remind me of myself in how you approach dating. Its best to have experienced real life than to have stayed at home telling those on SS how to do things. Its about the stories and memories you collect along the way that make life so great.

As this relationship develops keep us posted on her thoughts regarding being dominant.

How come she hasn't had sex in a while?
Not sure. I didn't really pry because I didn't want her to feel self-conscious about it.

If I am to believe her at her word, she broke up with her ex and moved up here from Florida. That relationship ended because he was being unfaithful, all the while she was taking care of his ailing grandmother. She mentioned that she usually meets people in person as opposed to on dating apps. My guess is that she probably doesn't hold a very high opinion of these men because they probably "simp" for her to some degree and/or think they can win her over by being flashy with material possessions - something I'd imagined she'd been exposed to a lot, considering her current work as a shot/bottle girl as well as her former work as a stripper.

I would also guess this is why she gets off on making men submit to her.

Also, good call on avoiding parallel parking after drinking. I don’t even like doing that **** sober.
Yeah man, none of our family cars even have a reverse camera, so I was not about to potentially embarrass myself and/or get a parking ticket just to save a couple of bucks on garage parking

The worst case scenario is trying to do it and ripping the side mirror off (ask me how I know…)

This FR interests me because it gets into the question of “how persistent should you be before you say f it and next the girl?”

Unfortunately, there's a lot of context required to answer that question...

For example, one might say that if she were interested enough, then she would've checked Tinder more often, if only because it meant responding to me. Her responses seemed sincere, so I went a little further with the Instagram DM to see whether that was true.

Another example would've been from that other thread when she told me how she likes submissive men, and to "behave". Now, if she started acting like that in every future conversation, it might've been a different story...but it was such a small portion of the conversation that she only revealed to me because she probably assumed we would have sex and didn't want to surprise me with anything.

Finally, her initial rejection of me going for the kiss. She had something of a good reason; she told me that the only time she ever kissed anyone on the street like that, it was kinda forced on her, and she didn't like it. However, she also continued holding my hand, didn't create distance or go into silence, and even joked that she might change her mind if I got her a little tipsy.

I'll give you an example in the opposite direction, since this L hadn't yet happened for me to add it to my collection:

I'd met a girl at a local bar a few weeks ago. We hit if off, I got her number, and suggested she come with me and my group to this other venue. Despite seeming high-interest, she never responded to my text, so I let it go.

It was either 1 or 2 weeks later that I visited the same bar, and she was there again. She recognized me, apologized, and claimed that she was going through a messy breakup with her ex or something.

However, once she was done with that explanation, the very next thing she said was to ask me to buy drinks for her and her 3 friends...

I looked at her like she was crazy, then silently walked away.

Yeah, definitely need the context for each. I’m thinking the key distinction is whether she’s actually reciprocating your investment.

Like this girl: the Tinder responses were slow, but when you moved to Instagram she actually engaged. The street kiss was rejected, but she continued holding your hand, flirting, and engaging with you. She rejected that move but not the entire interaction.

But the bar girl? Ignoring your text then asking for a round of four drinks? Asking you to invest after she ignored the message? Yeah, absolutely not. NEXT.

Oh...it's developed...

I'd love to know your thoughts on what I'm about to describe here. I'm not necessarily asking for advice, but I want to describe what's bothering me about this girl.

We met just over 2 weeks ago on Tuesday, back on October 20th. Since then, we have seen each other that same Saturday, Monday (I offered to take her to a doctor's appointment since her mom wasn't available, just trying to help), and this past Halloween on Saturday - 4 times in just over a week.

She is absolutely enamored with me, and it's causing me to lose interest. Physically and sexually, things are going pretty well (she keeps telling me I'm the best she's ever had), but it kinda feels like we're speedrunning whatever this relationship is. She's mentioned that while she doesn't date girls, she DOES enjoy sleeping with them, and thinks it would be fun to have a threesome once we've established more trust - but that might just be a carrot she's dangling that wouldn't be worth it by that point.

We text back and forth all throughout the day, every day. Sometimes she will also call me and stay on the phone for an hour or more, which annoys me. She wants to see me CONSTANTLY - she says she misses me the same day I leave, and every other day until I see her again. Last weekend she was upset that I wanted to relax and stay in on Friday night, as opposed to seeing her, in which case I would have been with her Friday night and Saturday all day, leaving Sunday afternoon. She was also a little insecure here, thinking that if I'm not with her that night, it's because I might be with someone else.

She constantly compliments me, and if I don't return in kind with the same enthusiasm, she also gets upset because she doesn't enjoy feeling that she likes me more than I like her. On Halloween, I met her mom at a house party the mom's boyfriend was hosting, and by the end of my visit, she was asking about meeting my parents...

Again, we've known each other a little over 1 week at that point...

Just this morning, she had a dream about me where we were holding hands and enjoying a sandwich together, which she described as being very romantic.

Plus, I described in this post: https://www.sosuave.net/forum/threads/money-entrepreneurship-i-dont-really-know-what-to-do.286857/

How I've been feeling lately, and needing to spend my free time (my weekends) focusing on what I'm going to do financially, makes it difficult to appease this woman who wants me to spend all day and all night with her, all the time.

On a smaller note, I've also noticed that she hasn't offered to pay for anything so far. She'll get some snacks and cook some food for me, but since the date, which I fully expected to pay for, she hasn't offered to contribute financially. For example, on Halloween, it was 2 separate trips to get up and back from her mom's party at $50 each, before tip. Not only did she not offer to order or split it, but on the return trip she asked ME if I was ready to order it. Even little things, like getting energy drinks at a convenience store - she hasn't offered to pay or asked if I could buy it for her - she just assumes I've got it.

Maybe I'm overanalyzing that a little bit, but it's something small that I don't like.

Anyway, she wants to see me again this weekend. This might sound like a "steak too juicy, lobster too buttery" kind of problem, but I can't help getting turned off by some of this behavior.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Sounds like she really likes you and is love bombing you. I would tread carefully and definitely slow it down with the comms your side if you just want a casual FWB relationship. Put some space in there.

it takes two to tango with the comms .

Yeah, it sounds very unhealthy, and it could be involving some love bombing.

I actually like it when a girl is clingy and obsessed. But you got to have some space to breathe and do other things in life, too.

Be a strong man and have your boundaries. Communicate to her: "This day I have to work." If you don't text her for 3-5 hours, the world won't end.

Perhaps make it more normal to gradually take longer to reply. Don't be available 24/7.

And if she makes too big of a deal out of it, explain that this is not okay, and keep doing your thing.

Don't forget: She should enter your frame.

Tear off the bandaid OP. Cite the fact you want to get your life more in order. She may not want that as it may make you more desirable on the market (from her perspective)

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.
