Chilling after a long Night Shift.'

' After a hard day's work
I sit glancing at my sailboat painting, on my couch,
after a night shift at 2 am,
got Doritos and Cold Coronas
on the table to munch on these lighted hours
of the night. A Jerry Springer episode
is nonchalantly on at TV, while I thought
about calling one of my co worker friends
for a pub run chilling session.


I let that dilemma casually linger on my head
while I put on some AC/DC and chow on my Doritos
and Corona. If I were a pipe smoker, this
would be the perfect bliss of the night
to ponder how I've been getting the upperhand
at one of my pesky feminist supervisors today,
what a skank haha.
Now would be the perfect time to go to Denny's
right now or some gas station run right now
and casually flirt with the cute baristas
and gas station attendance and pass some good vibes.
Not until I call up my romanticize buddy first
like I said and have to play Counselor, Psychologist,
Psychiatrist and Priest about his relationship
ramblings with his girlfriend Sarah and love triangle
with John or some crap like that which he is obsessed
about. I'm glad to help buddy.

So I sit here letting my mind daze for a bit,
I think I'll crank call a few cool laid back buddies
to work on my social skills and calibration
and also cool female platonic friends. Platonic female friends
are great for Japanese Sushi house grill night
in the weekends after a long week, you
can just BS, have a good time and take in their
nice feminine aura to ground you a little bit.

Time for some Jack Daniels mixed with Coke
to relax and get this Political feminist office vibe off of me
while I crank up some Jerry Springer, peacefully
in the middle of the night.'

' Sunday Morning Coffee Shop, Patio Sessions'.

Sunday morning here at my favorite Local
mom and pops coffee shop in town.
Got my newspaper and magazines with me,
got my laptop, sketchbook, novels and my Dog
Cooper - black labrador to pass on good vibes
to passerby's in the middle of the hallways.
He's a Service Dog for an old retired Air Force Vet
like me guiding me out of some troubles at times.
The Patio area is the perfect place to let my
artistic thoughts vibrate to others.

This would be the Perfect place to do
an acoustic jam session, I day dream about it
sometimes, I would play Seven Spanish Angels
by Ray Charles, That's how Strong my Love is
by Ottis Redding and Carmelita by Warren Zevon
in the brunchy days of the morning on
a Sunday. Just introspect songs to play
while people around me drink their lattes
and let them ponder about some cool relevant
topics of life while they grind the 9-5
like the weekend warriors that they are.
The Song 'Inner state love song' comes on
in the radio,
and it's a catchy introspective and joyful melody
that not only makes me reminisce of past lovers
but past relationships itself and how life can
be sometimes fragile and how we need to make
the most out of it. I take a sip of my latte
and pat my Dog Cooper and pet him for five minutes
while I take out my color pencil and capture the vibe
of the moment Monet style with vibrant colors.

I lean on my air chair, with head phones finally on,
sip on my latte somewhere and relish the sunshine
and the week ahead of me.

' 5 AM Morning Jog'.


' It is the dusky morning of a 5 am
jogging session. The Streets are dark and sun have not risen
but the garbage man is in a cheerful mood
and I said hi, whats up to him anyways
I thought to myself I wish it was Christmas
or even Halloween already so there'd be nice decoration lightings
to look at while I cruise the street with my year long Nike Sneakers.

I continued saying Hi to a few more people on the streets,
it's Texas so people get this type of charm
if it's questionable, I put on some Raggae music and
quietly blessed those I passed with no judgement but
calm acceptance. I jog the intersections and alley ways
with the sounds and melodies of UB40, Sublime, the Hemptones
and Peter Tosh encouraging me the meaning of
pleasurable delayed gratification because I know
I'm gonna eat a hearty breakfast after this.

I stopped by at the local park to do some Pull ups
before I head on home
but they were all taken by a few gentlemen
so I went with the flow and did Push ups on the floor
and dips off the benches instead. This is called
cool improvisation and rolling with whatever life
gives you dude.

I ended my morning, with a nice hot shower
with some Fresca and boiled eggs in the fridge.
Time to kick some feminist tail and start my day.'

' Picking up Chicks in McAllen Starbucks'.

It's a cool Friday evening night
and I thought about casually chatting up my Starbucks baristas
Freddy and Louie and asking them whats up
while I sit and sketch a simple doppelganger of Lao Tzu
on my sketch pad, while sipping on green tea
and chowing down on their five buck brownies
and hot pockets in the patio area in the back.

At my sighting I engaged a Foxy, artistic punk rock alternative
rocker of a woman, five foot one, brown skin, latina
with black hair, wearing a Rolling Stones T-shirt
and I'm ready to pounce like an African Photographer in a Safari,
ready to capture the right moment for his gallery collection
he dreams of putting up at his local coffee shop in his hometown.
In this moment, I am street Poet and Busker ready to await
the right moment for the street intersections to get crowded
and time the catchy chorus and proverbs when the crowd
have gathered and let faith take its course.
I quietly rolled up my shades in a calm manner
with my green tea latte in my hands,
I took a gentle sip and approached her in a
laidback manner and said a casual 'whats up, this seems like a
great time to make conversation with a friendly stranger
and you look friendly' in a laidback, casual tone with a grin.'
We banter and banter on and ask open ended questions
with the art of story telling never go out of style
with my blissful escapades of the Caribbean's and Mexico City
and love for Mexican food of course.

I ended the conversation on a good note, asked her casually
and peacefully for her number, we embraced and I
kissed her forehead like a bratty flavor of the week that she is.

'Hot Pockets on a Sunday Evening'.

Ah there's nothing like Hot Pockets on a Sunday evening
after playing an epic grueling Pick up basketball with the guys.
Ya lay there gently on the couch, heat it up
for a good five minutes or so before calling up
a friend to check how he's doing.
Ya lean back, ponder on last week and the upcoming week,
put your barefeet on the coffee living room table
and capture the imaginary pipe smoking session
of a gentleman connoisseur reliving practical jokes on his mind.

As you eat your hot pockets, you smell the scent of
roasted bbq to your next door neighbor next door
and how you can probably make a few side dishes
like mac and cheese, hamburger helper chili mac
and lasagna to contribute to their small gathering
but the peace in of the solitude of this evening
is too good to pass up. Just you, your dog and
some Chris Stapleton playing on the radio
on this Sunday evening before you
probably head out, take a him for a walk
around the neighborhood and BS and casually
talk to your semi conservative friend George
about the occurrences happening in Los Angeles.
What a sh1t fest dude.

‘ Reflections from South Texas’.

There’s nothing like a good ole fashion
latino amigo to tell you straight up what
you should be doing. With his Catholic,
practical, pragmatic way of living
he is a wise counselor in a sea of
white knights and third wave feminist
ready to turn you into a cvck for the ages
to bow down to your Eveful queen.
Salute for the fallen and those stuck
in their cages living their lives for their children
I would say, for their stories are pure wisdom
and full of flawed tales of domestication for
unmarried Bachelors to hear.


Being financially free and having thy options
to live anywhere is more glorifying than
being a slave with a white picket fence,
worrying about your next mortage payments
and next ‘mandatory’ car purchase.
Though being a man behind the grill at
parties and giving children piggy back
rides on your shoulders sounds alluring,
the art of living a solitary remote lifestyle
in a luxury condo in Thailand or The Philippines
relaxing poolside in the morning and
a casual drink by the pub at night,
sitting and reflecting with other gentlemen
and connoisseurs,
is a dude’s right of passage not to skip.

When it’s all set and done,
yes Id probably settle down
with the most laidback and feminine latina ever,
make her the complimentary cake to my
world, but my pipe smoking days and man
cave hours will continue on
and I shall pass the good vibes around
like a vagabond ready for his next adventure.

' 5 am at Circle K'



I went in to Circle K here yesterday morning,
I got some breakfast burritos, thought about getting some donuts
but got some coffee with life saver's gummies instead.
I looked up the newspapers headlines near the doorway
and it's the same ole same ole Fox News ads
going in my head.

The gas station attendant looked to be in a groggy mood,
so I wanted to elevate his consciousness
by some small talk and a smile and
a smart ass remark about the Dallas Cowboy's upcoming season.
The warmth of the coffee in my hand
feels good this time of the day, I got a few hours
of sleep thank god, that's more than enough
for my insomniac self and I thought of looking
at my Facebook page just now and looking at
some random entertaining BS on one
of my good friend's fishing trips in South Padre Island.

As I went outside, ' this would be a good time
to squeeze in a jogging work out' I said to myself.
The weather is just right and the wind is blowing
smoothly in the bliss of the night, why not
express myself?

I drove back home to the sounds of
vintage classic rock while sipping
my coffee in the expressway, cruising
at a cool 50 mph.

' Trip and Chill session at South padre'


My buddy and I cruised and crossed the long South Padre Island
watching the sun slightly set this afternoon.
To the sounds of ' Rock and Roll aint noise pollution' by AC/DC
happily playing in the radio, while I passed him
some left over biscuits from Church's Chicken
that we were devouring for lunch.

We did our usual crap today and stopped
by the Parks and board walk and suddenly,
we encountered a badass, colorful kite being flown
by a youngster on the peachy sands by the sea shore.
We sat by the ground, had a smoke
and ate Subways and had coronas
and both reflected to ourselves how that
would look good on slow motion
with retro good looking women from the 80s
and mid 70s acting as a decor.

The Children suddenly being excited
and playing a game of tag and tackling
each other like line backers joyfully
are probably the reminder of the reason
why we both came here, to have a few drinks
shoot some sh1t, go fish and chill.
The added bliss and excitement made
me mentioned to come check out the new
Pirates Lounge cafe and restaurant nearby
and shoot the sh1t, bust some balls and pick
up enlightened, sophisticated tail
at the end of the night.

The Rocky jetties remind me of that
scene of Free Willy all of the sudden
where that native american dude muttered a sacred chant
and Free Willy made his leap to freedom
and escaped with great triumph and joy.
This is why we come here every now and again
to have a smoke, chill out and lay back
and reflect childhood bliss and moments
time and time again with a sip of Coronas,
Heineken or wine.

' A kickboxing, Calisthenics work out in my garage'.


It's a Dusky hours of 4:30 AM
and the sounds of current events being lightly broadcast
at my local retro 80s vintage station
was being aired. I sat on my chair with a stoic
grim look on my face and took a sip of vitamin water
to slightly refresh myself. Working out during
this time of the day gives you fresh out look
and perspective of what may come and your past
flaws and making amends with them.

I shadow boxed my frustrations on my speedbag
but most of all my passions for Dunkin Donuts,
James Bond movies and toxic yet charismatic, independent
broads you see in Universities these days
with a righteous attitude. I calmed myself down
and took a few deep breaths and gently did
a reps of dips on my chair and slowly did
push ups on the cold, soft rugged floor.
Afterwards I did a few pull ups and eventually
reminisced about the time I went to an Air Port
in Tokyo and how it had a lot of badass items
to give as presents to my family and how it
inspired me to take up Aikido, Bushido and
cook authentic ramen noodle soup.

Then I did a few cool down stretches
to end the session, I reached out and touch my toes
and took a few deep breaths and
thought how badass it would be to start
a tai chi or meditation class for the community
and get in touch with their inner purpose.

After that, I went inside and went took a
a relaxing twenty minute nap on my couch,
then went to the kitchen and opened up
a Heineken and bottled water
and peacefully ate rice krispies cereal with milk
and thought about my to do list and day in
front of me.

' Well wishing at an Irish Pub on Christmas Eve'.



I sit down here, slightly buzzed
on Corona, Smirnoff and Miller light
on this Irish pub after a hearty dinner
with my family on this Christmas evening.
There was a gentleman who smiled and
tried to make conversation with me right now
so I returned the favor and wished him well.

As I took a sip of my Corona, there was
a lovely latina waitress to my right and I reached out
to the consciousness of my buzzed up mind
and prayed to the universe and wished her well
as well. It was a calm, laid back night of well
wishing and not much was happening but
the sounds of cheesy movies in the Hall mark channel
that's being played on the bar's tv.

As a George Strait song was being played
on the radio just now, I thought about a friend
in Austin Texas and how he might be alone
during this time of the year and I called him
to see how he was doing this time of the year
and told him to go call his parents and go
attend a midnight mass so you'll have some
company and have something to do.
I realized my family are probably going to take
some pictures when I get back home
so I better get ready for the escapades
and shenanigan's that comes with it,
I'll make sure to go to my room and crash early tonight.

I went back home and ate some left overs,
some turkey, macaroni and cheese,
green bean casserole, mash potatoes,
sausage and corn in the microwave
with some soothing flan for dessert.

' To be Purely Sober'.


I sit here soaked up in sweat
comfortably, curled up, grasping in bed
on my blanket.
Full on aspirin, beef jerky
and motivational quotes on online threads.
I've been trying to break the habit
but it's calling my name again tonight,
with the look on my future children's pictures
and wise proverbs on my walls
I resist with my loving might.

I messed up my hair and
wash my face with embrace and remember
why I'm here.
I just need to take a few deep breaths
and get my thoughts together
and in few hours, the coast is clear.
If I go the distance with this,
my level of compassion for the human spirit
will go up big time,
just a glass of water and walk outside
and it will all be sublime.
When it's all set and done,
there's nothing but love and expressing that
in an empty canvass dude,
let my torment be a vessel for future empathy
to lift some mood.

‘ Cruising 10th street’.

Sometimes a dude
just gotta get away and let
the wind sail and let
the engines roar.
You grab a smoothie, yogurt
and cookie at a dessert shop
to go and reminisce
a few local stores.


You grab your smartphone
and call up a few folks
while you drive, a little
laughter, a little rapport,
a little cheer, deep down
you know you want to
break free from the hive.
You turn on the air con
slowly, you try not to
get too close to the car
in front of you, peaceful
solitude is the momentary answer,
this you must do.
The bright lights, the flashing
corridors of the bars and pubs
inviting you to come in,
but it’s not even pay day
yet where shall we begin?
Flashing thoughts of past
relationships suddenly enter your
mind, but you’re at a new chapter
and simply loving the grind.

Sounds of blues country being
played in the radio,
melts and pacify your soul
more than you ever know.
Just you enjoying the bliss
of this South Texas night.
