C&F is completely situational. You shouldn't memorize a bunch of "lines" and try to make them fit the situation, because you're right - they won't work. Asking people for lines is pathetic; think up your own... the first few weeks/months they might be sad and chump-ish but just as with everything else, they'll improve with constant practice until you sound like a natural.
