I meant that the 60s signal a massive turn for many reasons. I do not believe that the 50s represent idealized Christianity like many think but nevertheless the juxtaposition is justified.

My point is that I understand that you are pointing to history to make your case, but patriarchy is the universal rule regardless of race, ethnicity, culture, era etc. It can exist in many forms. The Bible is an example that contrasts differing attitudes.
