AT bodybuilding.com they recommend taking multivitamins, glutamine, creatine, whey protein, antioxidants and so on. What do you guys take? I want to start with a right diet. What supplements are essential? should i take all these listed above? Any sugestions?

man all you really need is a multivitamin plus some vitamin C on the side, whey protein is really good too...all the other stuff is if you can afford it then go for it, if not you'll still gain good.

Rest

.... I stopped taking creatine a few days ago and I actually feel better not taking it. It's way too much for what you get out of it. Just pound the protein shakes and hit the gym as hard as you can.

Whey isolate and creatine, water, work and rest. Beer on the weekend as well.

Been working out per Diesel's "bulking up giude" and i have seen major muscle development.

Now I actually have a chest! :D

The whole point is that supplements AREN'T essential, rather, a good diet is. Supplements should do just that - supplement a superior eating plan.

I admit having a weight gainer or protein shake or MRP can be a handy way to eat and get those EXTRA meals in but make sure your consumption of whole foods is on the ball first.

Having said that, and if im eating well, i like to supplement with protein and carb powders, plenty of vitamins and minerals, flax oil capsules and perhaps some glutamine.

Now and again use some tribulus which I find good for strength without weight gain - and anything that increases testosterone levels is good in my book:D

There are a lot of young guys (teens) on here desperate to put on weight who may be easily influenced. Guys who should be training hard, eating well and maybe taking a few natural supplements whilst taking advantage of their ample natural testosterone production. Dont just write the name of a particular AAS. It doesnt belong in a thread about supplememts. I have nothing against AAS and think it is healthy to discuss them in a reasoned and dispassionate way. I find the whole subject fascinating and can hold my own with most but there is a time and a place my friend.

I eat the basic macronutrients: protein, fat and carbo. I take some whey protein during bulking when I want more protein. That's that.

I used to take all that $$crap$$. I have always been a severe hardgainer but I have never seen gains like I have gotten in the past 4 months. All I do is drink more beer than I EVER have in my life and I discovered these "el monterey" brand burritoes that I can buy at the grocery store freezer. If you are not fat I don't think you need anything more than whey protein. If you are fat then you need some cutting pills to give you the energy to do some serious high reps and cardio.
