The whole point is that supplements AREN'T essential, rather, a good diet is. Supplements should do just that - supplement a superior eating plan.
I admit having a weight gainer or protein shake or MRP can be a handy way to eat and get those EXTRA meals in but make sure your consumption of whole foods is on the ball first.
Having said that, and if im eating well, i like to supplement with protein and carb powders, plenty of vitamins and minerals, flax oil capsules and perhaps some glutamine.
Now and again use some tribulus which I find good for strength without weight gain - and anything that increases testosterone levels is good in my book
