The 2nd one. A real man is supposed to take charge in a relationship. The first chick would turn out to be too uppity and bossy. Hot chicks can sometimes get away with this, but the chick you described are the ones who usually sit at home Friday nights with a box of cookies and a Harlequin romance novel.

It depends on what you're looking for. The first one works when you have a girl who has a decent job and has goals. In that case she's more of a partner then a subordinate. I prefer that case because it's a two way street. If I in turn am having problems with something, it's nice to know I can go to a thinking partner who can look over the issue with a fresh pair of eyes and give credible advice.

The latter takes more effort on your part because people who ask what to do all the time are more or less drones. A drone is good to order around and are generally only good at performing whatever task are lain out for them but without a guide are lost. I'm not too big of a fan of this because I encourage people to think. It's tricky enough making decisions in my complex life so the last thing I need is to make decisions for two people with no help. Some people can manage this though and prefer it that way.
 

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

The first girl because she has ambitions, independent and won't depend on you for finacial relief.

The other girl needs to go home and let mommy and daddy finish raising her until she becomes woman enough to make her own decisions.

Believe me, this might sound good on paper (computer screen), it gets very old and annoyin', very very fast.
 

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.
