I don't like it when people ask theoretical questions on forums. my reply to such questions is always "go out and try it on 10 girls and there is your answer"
but I have been meaning to try this line and haven't been out and whenever I have been out I haven't run into reasonably attractive girls. I have been itching to find out how a reasonably attractive would react to this:
"excuse me, I am sure you don't get this all the time, but you're very pretty"
by reasonably attractive I mean she is not fat and disgusting to look at, just average or better.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

I don’t compliment anything related to how a woman looks. She needs to earn my compliments by impressing me with something she didn’t get for free like her good looks that her parents DNA gave her. Or her shoes that were made in a factory in China. She didn’t make them.

Don't compliment a girl so easly, a compliment should be something she has to earn not something you give out like candy to every girl you see.
