Lately I've been listening to UK "grime" style hip-hop when I work out, stuff like Dizzee Rascal, Wiley, etc. I just got the "Run the Road" compilation CD that has a lot of good tracks on it. The beats are rough so it gets me pretty pumped up

I just listen to music that I like.

my mate said to me that it's an interesting contrast, working flat out to depressing music. aye right, that's why he's 2 stones lighter than me

Theses kinds of music have positive effects on me too. I don't use iPod or Walkman, I find them distracting but the music they play in the gym is some techno gay sh|t that's why I have to tune myself out while working out.

Official Lifters' Tune Thread

There seems to be a growing number of people checking out this part of the forum. With WBA, EFFORT, A_Unit and others making a regular appearance and offering their assistance, it seems like more and more people are realizing that a strong healthy you, is a happy you. I'm hoping you guys (meaning everyone) will be equally excited in helping compile a list of tunes to bust out during a workout.

I'm hoping to update this frequently, adding to the list, possibly even making a "webpage" with the listings on there. Of course they would be organized by Genre>Artist>Song to make searching a little bit easier.

If you're wanting to add a song to the list, be my guest. Try to follow this layout to make it simple for me. Thanks guys

Genre(Rock, Rap, Metal, Hard Sh*t, etc.): Artist Name - Song Name

I'll toss out a few ones right now...I'm plenty sure I'll add more as the day goes on.

Rock: Rob Zombie - Demonoid Phenomenon
Rock: Rammstein - Links 234
Metal: Static-X - I Am
Metal: Static-X - Push It

***I understand that not everybody will agree with the music selection, and I am sure that there is enough maturity here to have a civil discussion. Some people don't like Rap, some people don't like Metal, et cetera, but for the sake of everybody here, and for the sake of keeping this thread open, try not to start a flame war over somebody's music selections.

The Rocky Soundtrack works for me.

Otherwise some hard and fast psychedelic trance (Hallucinogen, Space Cat, Filteria, Misted Muppet)

But I generally think that music with a fast and hard vibe works well. Can't imagine getting much motivation listening to Enya whilst lifting. :)

lol...even st. anger. it's the only thing that p.o.s. album is good for.
HAHA!!! A girl I was "seeing" bought me St Anger as a present, I scanned through it once, said "What is this sh*t" and never played it again...

When I'm doing a work out I put on a whole heap of stuff on random. I have some party type r&b dancey sort of stuff (think "you got served" music) some 3rd eye blind, metallica live stuff, disturbed, Winger (yes, that's right I said Winger), and of course some AC/DC ("gone shootin" has a great tempo for dumbell exercises)
