My hypothesis which will be difficult to prove is that women desire attention more than sex and as a consequence the over saturated market of simps is providing that attention for women without the corresponding increase in sexual frequency that would have occurred in the days before online simping was available to provide said attention.

Now follow me on this concept. Generally women now are inundated with attention online and this has caused a dysfunctional dating scene that results in less committed relationships which directly impacts pregnancy relates

of course this is a multifactorial issue but simps are partially to blame and honestly in my opinion they are creating a bit of a traffic jam in the social landscape in general

This doesn't need to be a scientific deep dive, because it's obvious why this is:

• Social media globalizes the sexual marketplace
• Lonely men subsidize these women's lives for a parasocial relationship (Twitch, OnlyFans, Instagram)
• Even average women now massively outearn most men as a result
• Most women are naturally hypergamous (they want their men to be better off than they are), and shoot for the top 10% of men
• The top 10% of men have options, and often do not settle down (famous actors, successful musicians, etc)

The result is that attractive women want the best guy they can get...and those guys won't become exclusive with those women...and the other 90% of men can't rise to the elevated standards these women now have. Meaning nobody is happy.

Though I wouldn't necessarily say that's a bad thing...the world population doubled from 4b to currently over 8b in something like less than 50 years. That is not a sustainable thing.

On the other hand, the low birth rate not replacing the population can create all sorts of problems.

Anyway, I'm not surprised women prefer attention to sex - it's the dopamine hit without the work or investment.

yeah, I think it is somehow a well known thing that women prefer the attention more than the sex

and mainly uses sex as a way to get attention from men that do not give them attention otherwise

that it is why for example on seduction forums preaches that attention should be given when women are compliant as a reward and removed if they are not compliant

Unless you need your kids working your subsistence farm, children are a net negative for economics and productivity. They're expensive and drain away all of your time and energy. Birth rates are down because having a child in a modern economy is basically volunteering to cut off your hands.

I think this is part of it. Demographic decline (less fertile women over time) and institutional access to resources that bypass your average man are also contributing factors.

Quite sure that anywhere in the world, as long it is a developed country and outside of the big cities, you can easily live from the minimum salary

Can a minimum salary afford 2k a month on daycare alone? What about this excellent health insurance provided by the meth capital McDonalds in rural America unless you have 15k plus in cash laying around. In addition, the health systems in these low cost areas are generally dog shvt too because of logistics and any doctor worth a shvt would rather live somewhere else so good luck Chuck.

i get that sentiment. I have one child and she is probably the only thing keeping me here in the United States for now

Birth rates plunged in the 60s when the contraceptive pill was introduced alongside rising levels of both male and female education. As countries became wealthier and these become more widely available, birth rates decreased. Immigration has been one of the main things offsetting this and allowing populations to continue growing.

Fertility declined the second it became a choice, long before online simping was even a thing.

Healthcare is decent in low cost areas, you can not do complicated stuff there, but for day to day stuff is ok

complicated stuff occur rarely, so for most of what you need you should be ok

quite sure that daycare is way cheaper in those areas as well
