A good slow method is to use teeth whitening gum. It doesn't make them that many shades whiter, but if you are a coffee or tea drinker or smoker it can make an immediate impact. I chew it after every cup of java. It does have a noticeable effect, plus I imagine it lowers plaque formation as they have said in commercials for years.
Some of my friends used this 'gel' and then a mouth piece to put in. They got white teeth, but some of them (2of5 people ..) lost some teeth !?!! I mean they just .. fell out. Anyone else heared of this ?

My top teeth whitened 7 shades and my bottom 9 shades (they were a little darker to begin with). If you've got the $$ and are as vain as I am, then go for it.
