As I get back into the dating game (mainly in a few weeks when I hit it hard), I have to address one of my fears.

I have a fear of STD's like anyone else. And one thing I was thining about is how I actually don't necessarily like a girl giving me a BJ.

Partly because it takes me a while to get off, but the other part is I have a fear of contracting herpes this way.

Which leads to my ignorance, and I haven't researched it yet.

I know obviously a girl with herpes cold sores on her mouth can easily give herpes to you when she does oral on you. Is this the predominant way in which it's transferred to people?

Sorry to put fear into people but I had a scare once, it wasn't herpes but it was after oral from a girl. If I was more comfortable I'd tell more about it.

Maybe I should later (in fact I may have an old post on it). In which case I already blurted it out.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

yes you can get herpes from oral sex.

I know there is the oral herpes and that can be used to give genital herpes.

I already knew this, I was just wondering if this was mentioned as the main route of transmission of the virus? Or if one is more likely to get it from vaginal sex.

Honestly my answer would be that is most likely transmitted by whatever area the sore contacts your body. So both are probable, but didn't know if any researcher had determined which was more likely.

The implication? I am actually worried about getting a ******* from some girl that I just meet as well.
