Sometimes, you just need to get a thought off your head.
Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."
You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.
She's been waiting forty minutes.
Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.
Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.
She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.
Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.
So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.
The words come later. The impression comes first.
I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.
The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.
Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

Took the kid to go see Elysium tonight....let me tell you, I like Matt Damon, If I was gay I'm sure I'd be jerking it to him. That being said, it was the biggest cliche filled, over endulged, piece of $hit movie I ever saw. I can't see how these actors constantly get put in these $hit movies, then somehow go on with their lives. It was a joke. Fvcking crap.
EDIT: and how come the moderator's forum never has any posts in it? Don't they want to talk about moderator stuff???
The posts are shy - they run and hide unless you sing them nursery rhymes.Peaks&Valleys said:EDIT: and how come the moderator's forum never has any posts in it? Don't they want to talk about moderator stuff???
You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.
For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.
Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.
The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.
No, you're pretty much like a good friend of mine. He just wants to get laid. And he gets mad at me when I don't want to go out and meet a set of 5's. I tell him: "I'd like to help you out buddy, and be a wing man and take one for the team, but the girl you're trying to get is also a 5. The jumping on the grenade rule doesn't apply here. Unlike you, my d1ck doesn't move when I look at a 5 walking across the room."BeginningDJ said:Am I the only one here that takes the path of least resistance?
Let's say you were at a bar and knew this HB6 would bang. On the other hand, there is an 8 that you might have a shot with, but takes much more work and it's 50/50. Which would you go after?
Your scale or my scale?BeginningDJ said:Fighting words Weak&Amputee,
If you have those high standards, I absolutely congratulate you to come home with d!ck in hand. I'm glad that you can pass up a guaranteed 6. Maybe you don't like random fvcks and looking for someone to spend the rest of your life with?
My HB6 (would bang)Peaks&Valleys said:I've seen what you consider an HB10...and let me tell you, I'd hate to see what you consider and HB6.

Wait 12 years.BeginningDJ said:I don't rate woman in their 30's or with kids.
To be the same age as you?Peaks&Valleys said:Wait 12 years.
That chick seemed like a solid 6, could be a 7 if her body was on point. Either way....yes.
Yes, of course. I just get along with more mature women though, you know, women my age. Most of them have some baggage, it's okay though, so do IBeginningDJ said:To be the same age as you?
I'll openly ask you now, do you not think you can attract an HB7 with no kids or baggage?
Are you always b1tching and crying? Seriously??BeginningDJ said:Damn, that gives me fvcking motivation for the future...Dude you are such a buzzkill!
Are you telling me that women in their 20's are nearly off limits for men in their late 30's? Jesus christ, if that's the case, I'm dedicating myself to going out 8 nights a week!
You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.
And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.
Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.
The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.
