"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Hi guys

I asked this girl if she wanted to come and see my friends band play with me, she said yes. Fair enough.

8pm roles around, no sign of her. 8.15 comes and goes, still no sign. I give her a call and I get this:

Me: Hi
Her: Hi
Me: So, where abouts are you?
Her: Didnt you get my SMS
Me: No, I didnt.
Her: Are you sure?
Me: yeah, Im fairly sure as I havn't gotten it.
Her: Well i can't make it, I have this test to revise for blah, blah, blah...
Me: Well maybe we can do it some other time
Her: Yeah, maybe.

So, obviously I didnt let that stop me going to see my friends band, but it still kind of sucked as she's fairly cute.

I havn't heard from her in about a week, and I sent her an SMS asking if she wanted to go for that drink some time this week. So far I've heard jack sh!t back.

So I have 2 questions:

1: How long should I wait before I say screw it and move on? 2 days, 3 days or what? Her actions indicate a lack of interest so is there any point attempting to carry on?

2: This guy who also likes her wont leave me alone. He wants to know constantly how its going with us, what we've been doing etc. This guy told me she wouldnt agree to go out with me because Im not great looking, I dont like him that much and to be fair, I don't think its any of his damn business whats gone on between me and said girl. Having said that, I need to tell him something. Any ideas what?

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

either NEXT or just walk away. Let the girl chase you. You already offered maybe some other time, so she knows that. No need to remind her.

If she's interested, after whatever blah blah(a test to revise for??!!!)...she'll come after you. If she's not, her lost.

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.
