"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

here's this situation...
i met a chick in class.. she's a bit older than me, well established (as in, living on her own, owns her own car, etc; with the help of her parents of course) we've been talkin and flirtin throughout the whole semester... neway, ima get to the point:
a week b4 exams, i called her up and had a short and sweet convo, and ended it by asking her if she wanted to chill right after we took our exam... she agreed, and it was on... just to add on, we only have this class once a week, so we never see each other throughout the week..
anyway, i came a lil late to my exams so i had to sit at an open corner of the room... an hour through, she finished, handed her test in, and left the room... i assumed that she was probably waitin for me outside, so i hurried to finish mine. i finished a half hour after her, and when i looked around outside, she was gone... i tried callin her cell, but she wasn't pickin up... so i left a brief voicemail, "hey its 'chillipimp', what happened to you? call me back"
its been 2, almost 3 days... i was thinkin, why should i waste my time tryna get an answer from her... but still, should i try one last time... or should i scrap her number, cuz i left her msg, and she should be gettin back at me...
or am i thinkin too much and find some new meat...

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Yah, next her. She would have returned your voice message. She obviously got it.

(i saw this as an excuse to call me).. anyway, i asked her about that situation that last week.. she told me she waited, but recieved a call and had to go... i then asked her why she didnt call back; she told me she didnt get the msg.. (my a$$)
anyway, she told me to call her when i go back to school to reregister so we can "chill" afterward... is this girl caving in, or what? how should i approach this

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.
