Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."
You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.
She's been waiting forty minutes.
Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.
You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.
Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.
She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.
Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.
What's your finder fee?waxlrose said:So don't try to talk people out of looking at THEIR options. Reading books may help some of the guys here and more power to them. If it's not something you require, don't read it. It may help other people start from scratch.
Oh, I get how negs work, and who they work on.waxlrose said:You guys just don't "get" how it works. A neg isn't an insult, it's a back-handed, compliment delivered playfully. You don't throw it until you have established some attraction by merely being interesting. You throw the neg to disqualify your sexual interest in the target. She is used to being hit on by everyone, but all of a sudden, someone different comes along-YOU. You don't want her. She wants to know why you are different. She is interested in you. You are now the "Hot Chick" in the interaction. You make it seem like you walk up, tell the chick she's fat and think that's what a neg is. Always remember-People want what they can't have, even if you have to give the impression that they can't have it. That's why it's called disqualification theory. And deep down, everybody is insecure in some way, they only will show it if they like you first. Negs work-Plain and Simple.
You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.
Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.
Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.
Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.
Bvbidd said:Even though calling it negs is geeky. If it does not work your just too ugly for her to care.
It's not the fact she is so amazingly secure with herself that she can not socialize and actually reply when somebody teases her. If she rejects you after you teased her it's because your just not the type she's looking for and does not care what you think of her. End of story.
That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?
She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."
She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.
I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.
Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Not to sure about that, as his writing style differs from that of Mystery's.Krassus said:Just so you guys know, waxlrose and mystery are the same personLook at his post history.
You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.
For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.
Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.
The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.
