When performing deadlifts, are you wanting to mainly use your legs. Or both your arm and legs?

I'm just curious cause, I been getting back in to weight lifting and want to do it correctly when I do.

Also, if there is anything else I should know about deadlifts. Feel free to add.

Thanks.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

You aren't really using your legs as the main muscle. When you're starting the lift, imagine driving your legs through the floor - all other things in place, you'll initiate the lift right (keep tight and keep your back arched etc). You'll end up using your back, core, hips, legs etc.

There'll be threads of correct deadlift form on ironaddicts.com and you'll find a few good form videos on youtube.

You only use your arms to hold onto the bar not to actually lift the weight

Um. I guess all that quads and hamstring work people do to increase their deadlift is for no reason, and i just imagine the soreness after deadlift day.

Quads and hammies do the hardest part of deadlift which is to pull the weight from the floor to about knee level (or half way to the top position). If you're not sore in those places the next day, you're not doing deadlift right.
