I've been with my girlfriend for over 8 months, she says that I am over protective. This is because I get pissed off when she hugs other guys in front of me. I probably shouldn't care that she does this but I do for some reason. What should I do to not be "over protective?

The best thing you can do is take it or break up with her. Lot of guys feel just like you do about their girls all on a another dude. Thats just life.
i dont know why but it seems like everyone hugging and i mean everyone. its kind of like a new way of saying hello. think nothing of it,now if she is holding hands,sucking another guys **** or something then there is a issue.
