Online depends heavily on looks. So the standard advice applies. Work out, get a cool hair style (or shaved), cool clothes, etc. Even then you will get plenty of rejections. Women are more picky about looks than men could ever hope to be.
Plus looks are not necessarily about being "handsome.". A guy could have an average or even ugly face and be considered hot by women if he has the height, build, or other physical characteristics she's into.
