my workout calls for it but i dont' know what it is. its supposed to work the chest.

it's a machine for fake (usually incline) bench presses. nautilus is a brand, any machine will give you the same (fake) bench press. removes stabilizer muscles from the equation.

Do yourself a favour and replace that for flat bench press, or incline press. If you don't have a spotter/ power rack/ or you're inexperienced than use the machine until you feel confident enough to put weight over your chest.

Actually on that day my workout calls for the flat and incline benches. here it is:

75 pushups
bench press
incline bench press
nautilus press
pec deck machine

Unless you're doing 1 rep on all the presses, thats way too much. Who gave this workout?

Here's my reccomendation: take out the machines presses, do two sets of the bench and two sets of incline bench, then do 75 pushups. Push ups are meant more for endurance. Weightlifting is meant to get you stronger, and best done when you are 100%.

okay, so you pre-exhaust your pressing muscles with a stupid amount of pushups.. meaning less weight on your main compounds, meaning less overall growth. wonderful! :D
