My grandpa just passed

My grandpa passed, earlier this evening so in a fitting send off, I am drinking whisky and listening to Celtic music. Drinking of course causes thinking. I was thinking about how I never really told him I loved him. I did but his closed off nature made it near impossible to feel comfortable expressing any emotion around him. More often than not conversations were limited to a few sentences.

Now, I am regretting that I wasn't as close to him as I would want. I just want to pass on some words, if you love somebody, make sure that you tell them and live your life to the fullest.

Now back to listening to "Danny Boy".

My condolences. fwiw, my grandma died a couple of weeks ago. We are all closer to our own deaths with every day...

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers, etc. Its been a hectic couple of days and there are still more to come in preperation for the funeral. Mostly its in a support role, my dad is a mess and all wrapped up with preperations that I am stepping in to help run the business he has with my grandpa.

San Jose, it may feel weird or awkward to start getting in touch with your family, but if you do want to be closer to them you need to take that first step.
