What is the maximum number of deadlifts anyone has ever done? At what weight?

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

Were they complete reps, starting from a dead stop on the floor every time, with a standard barbell and weight plates? Were they conventional? If so, that's amazing, that's almost 2.5x your bodyweight.
yessir !! Conventional style deadlifting with complete reps every time, full lockout and always hitting the floor !!

I've been blessed with ideal genetics for deadlifting my long arms and torso give me phenominal leverage advantages.

I'm gonna be shooting for 10 reps of 465 in 2 weeks.

 Damn!

I've only got 325lbs for 12 reps. Smooth up, smooth down. Feather landing.

I use to worry about coming down lightly and I won't advice you from doing it because there are tons of benefits to a slow concentric but every once in awhile work on your (standing) speed and just be reckless (with good form).

I found the 275 pounds easy but doing 43 total reps is equivalent to lifting perhaps 10 reps on 400 pounds. I plan to gradually increase the weight until I'm back up to 400 pounds, the way I figure it, this will actually help my progress. This should get me well above 400 pounds in a shorter length of time than if I were just lifting at 400 and increasing it by 5 pounds each week.

Has anyone else come close to Drum & Bass's numbers?

Thanks, and thats a good question..One of the disadvantages to raw deadlifting is the abuse your hands have to endure.

I don't focus on the amount of time it takes between reps but rather I'll focus on how much pain my hands can withstand before I need to let go. As soon as my hands recover I pull again.

btw..just did a 1 rep max today ..i hit 495.

That's not bad. At full lock out my maximum number of reps was two at 400 pounds on March 1 of this year. If counted individually I have lifted slightly more than that. Usually I have had to wait several minutes between reps at that weight level so I was glad to have been able to complete two lifts at 400 pounds one after another. That's why I'm hoping the new approach I mentioned in my fitness journal will help me.

There's a bodybuilder at my gym at the top of his game who has won the last few national contests down here (Australia), and placed 3rd in the world at a New York event a couple of months ago. About 6 months ago he got into 100 rep training. Where the weight is basically 50-60% of your 1RM, and keep going until you get to 100 reps (As many breaks in between as you need, but breaks only 5-10 seconds at most). I think my 1RM was around 140kg (About 300lbs).

So he tells me I should try this training technique just for something different. It took me about 20 minutes to do the 100 reps, and for the next week and a half my back was absolutely FVCKED. I thought I had done serious damage to it, it was so painful just to even lean a little forward or back. But it's because i was forced to use muscles that I normally don't have to use.

What are you talking about? You have reserve muscles?

Which muscles aren't used?

If anything, on a squat or deadlift you are using muscles that shouldn't be used how they are because you've exhausted the muscles and your form has gone dangerously to crap.

I wouldn't fvck around doing exercises like that that involve your lower back. Even DC training doesn't rest-pause deadlifts for that very reason.

Since we're now on the subject of pausing between lifts, how long do you guys wait? If I don't lift within no more than 20 secs of my previous lift, I declare the number where I stopped to be a set. Then I take rest break and then start again. I do that on all my exercises. I wonder if I've been counting them differently than most of you guys all of this time.

Yeah, I don't think high rep deadlifts are such a great idea. Too easy to get hurt. Plus, deadlifts take a very high toll on your body. With higher reps, it will be hard to recover enough in time for your other lifts.
So do it until failure, and then stop.

Failure = unable to complete a rep with proper form.

There's no need to push too hard. When your form turns to crap, accidents happen.
